A WORLD FIRST IN MICROSURGERY
“This was complemented by the inception of a microsurgery lab offering microsurgery training,” says Prof Graewe, who played an integral role as microsurgeon in the world’s first successful penile transplant, performed at Tygerberg Hospital in December 2014.
As a pioneer in his field, Prof Graewe is one of the first in South Africa to apply adipose-derived stem cells in cell-based therapy.

In addition to his role at The Cosmetic Surgery Institute, Prof Graewe has published original articles in many leading plastic surgery journals and has authored two book chapters on plastic surgery techniques.
