Botox

Botulinum Toxin is a purified substance that's derived from bacteria. Commonly known types of botulinum toxin type A include Botox and Dysport.

Botulinum toxin A injections are used to soften lines creating a smoother more youthful, fresher facial expression. Botox is injected into specific areas of facial muscles to limit their contraction. Consequently the overlying skin does not 'fold' or crease resulting in a smoothing effect.

We rely on our facial muscles to communicate our emotions through our facial expressions. The intention of a Botulinum Toxin Type A treatment is not an expressionless face. Whilst it is beneficial to soften lines It is equally important to avoid a frozen, unnatural appearance.

This treatment offers an affordable, non-surgical solution. The treatment of Botox leaves almost immediate, positive visible results which require no recovery. Common areas of treatment are:

  1. Frown lines, shaping of the eyebrow, forehead lines
  2. Elevation of the corners of the mouth
  3. Treating an uneven, 'pot-holed' chin
  4. Treating nasal tip drooping when laughing or smiling
  5. Crow’s feet/smile lines
  6. Prevention of wrinkles
  7. Botulinum toxin type A is frequently used to minimize sweating in the armpits. Multiple intra-dermal sites are injected in each armpit. The effects last up to 6 months.

The injections take 5 - 15 minutes and are performed in the rooms. The effect takes 3-7 days from the time of the injection, and lasts for about 3-4 months. As it wears off one can see the specific muscles returning to their normal contracting ability. As there is no permanent muscle weakness, repeat injections are required to maintain this effect

Dermal Fillers

As skin ages the level of Collagen, Elastin Fibres and fat stores reduce considerably. Fillers are used to counter the effects of aging by facial remodelling and volume replacement. Dermal Fillers fill wrinkles, plump up the skin and give a more youthful, smoother, refreshed look. It is a temporary, relatively painless procedure with immediate results. A quick fix to soften facial wrinkles, plump lips and fill out any recessed facial areas which enhances facial bone structure.

Fillers work by adding small amounts of volume along the crease or depressions. This volume plumps up the skin and reduces or eliminates the recessed area/crease.

The most common areas of the face that require this treatment are around the eyes, cheeks, mouth, brow, bridge of the nose and jawline. Fillers are usually injected beneath the surface of the skin where it improves the affected area of skin.

Needling

Medical Skin Needling is also referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT). this procedure creates tiny areas of trauma within the skin, initiating a natural healing process. This process then releases natural growth factors that stimulate the production of collagen & elastin, resulting in skin rejuvenation reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, stretch marks, skin laxity and scarring such as that is caused by acne or chicken pox. It has also been successfully applied to the indication of hair restoration in cases of alopecia.

Pioneered by the internationally renowned South African Plastic Surgeon, Dr.Desmond Fernandes in 1997, needling has been combined with other therapies as well as performed on its own, to successfully treat acne scars, stretch marks, fine lines & wrinkles.

Skin Peels

A chemical peel is a technique that improves the skin's texture and appearance, by applying a chemical solution to the skin which removes the outer damaged layers. The amount of skin removed will depend on the type of chemical used, the strength of the product (superficial, medium and deep peels) and how long it is left on the skin. They can be used on most areas of the body, but are commonly used on the face or the back of the hands to improve rough skin texture, fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, sun damage, blemishes, scars or acne. The peeling creates a healing response at the lower layers of the skin that stimulates the production of elastin and collagen, resulting in smoother, radiant and younger looking skin.

Omnilux light therapy

Omnilux Revive™ (red light) acts to rejuvenate and repair damaged skin, improve uneven skin tone and reduce the appearance of fines line and wrinkles. Omnilux Revive delivers a precise wavelength of visible red light that penetrates deep into the skin to stimulate fibroblast activity to naturally boost the production of collagen (the protein responsible for plump, healthy skin).

Omnilux Plus™ (white light) it’s main purpose to heal the skin, making it perfect for after cosmetic surgery procedures, burns, damaged skin and new scars.

Carboxy therapy

The Carboxy Therapy procedure uses carbon dioxide to reduce stretch marks, cellulite and scars. It is also a safe, minimally invasive, clinically proven method to rejuvenate, restore, and recondition the skin. Micro-injections of carbon dioxide are injected just beneath the surface of the skin. These stimulate circulation and collagen production.

Carbon Dioxide Therapy or Carboxy-therapy, the miracle gas, has been touted as the biggest beauty breakthrough since Botox. Worldwide, Carboxy-therapy is rapidly becoming known as the leading skin rejuvenation treatment.
